...was held on Saturday 13th June and was a fantastic
day enjoyed by many. This Celebration marked the 150th anniversary of the time when Thames
Water sent the New River ‘underground’. The New River is neither
new nor a river but a 400-year-old man-made waterway between Ware in
Hertfordshire and Canonbury, over 30 miles in total. It used to play
a prominent role in assuring a water supply to London and
(maintained by Thames Water) still makes a contribution to the
capital’s water supply.
The Festival was held at two venues
Finsbury Gardens and the Community Garden in Myddleton
Road. The weather was glorious for the BPCA 150th Anniversary
Celebration on June 13th 2009, which meant that everyone had fun fun fun
in the sun sun sun. Click here for

Crime Prevention
Bowes Park is a pleasant and lovely place
to live but like many areas, we do suffer occasionally from criminal
activity. In this vein, our Association offers advice and news about
problems in our area, much of which we are mediating on behalf of the
Metropolitan Police and, not least, our Safer Neighbourhoods Teams.
Please have a look at our Crime Page and keep safe. You can go to this
information by clicking here or on the logo on the
right-hand side of this message, or at anytime by clicking "Crime"
on the left-hand menu.
